BATTLE OF THE SEXES âJD SELLS NASI LEMAK

On 22 December 2011, JD sold packets of Nasi Lemak at Julicious CafÃ©, Serdang Perdana after losing the Battle of Sexes with Dilly. From 1.00pm- 3.00pm, he managed to raise RM200 in aid of the flood victims. Many thanks also to the staff of Mix FM who collectively raised about RM1,000.
Because of your support, we were able to respond and provide mass-cooking facilities to communities affected by flood/fire.

LARIAN MPSJ 10KM 2011

Terima kasih kepada MPSJ dengan kerjasama semua pihak penganjur dan agensi menjayakan Larian MPSJ 10 km 2011 pada 4.12.11. Seramai 2200 peserta terlibat dan sebanyak 90 hadiah telah ditawarkan kepada pemenang berupa wang tunai dan hamper. BSM- Selangor juga mengadakan Kempen Derma Darah dan Pertandingan Soccer Kid. Turut memberi âcoachingâ kepada mereka ialah Pasukan Bolasepak Liga Negeri Brazil. Program ini telah dirasmikan olih Datoâ Yang Dipertua Datoâ Asmawi Bin Kasbi.
The success of this event is also credited largely to our sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event.Money raised through MPSJ run and sponsors will be towards the purchase of equipments for the setting up of an ambulance centre in Klang Valley.

Back by popular demand: calling all members, participants, volunteers or supporters to get involved with our RUN. Come as early as 6.00am.
RC-Selangor Chairman, Pn Fatimah Sulaiman expressed hope that the RUN will raise RM 30,000 to provide transportation for the elderly and needy in the Subang/Petaling Jaya area.

This run is open to everyone and is divided into 9 categories: men and womenâs open; men and womenâs veteran, men and womenâs junior and a family run.

Health & Safety Awareness Pilot Project (Projek Kesedaran Kesihatan & Keselamatan)at Sungai Lepoh, Kuala Pomsoon

Date: Sunday, 23 October 2011 at the Air Terjun Sungai Lepoh, Kuala Pomsoon, Batu 22, Hulu Langat

Present: Youth members from the Gombak, Petaling and MultiMedia University Chapters and VAD 100); Ms Kathryn Clarkson (IFRC) and Deborah Henley.

Purpose:
(i) the launching of the 3 big signboards containing vital and important information and emergency contact numbers (all positioned at strategic places from the main road ie Jalan Hulu Langat at Batu 22, leading up to the jungle path or trek that will lead one up to the source of the beautiful Sungai Lepoh waterfall on top of the hill; and

(ii) the âbunga kantanâ (torch ginger ) planting ceremony performed by Deborah Henley as a symbolic gesture to commemorate that anniversary of her late husband, Alistair Henley ( Director of the Asia- Pacific Zone).
As part of the program for the project launch, a âgotong royongâ to clean up the area surrounding the location of the 3rd signboard was also carried out by all those present.

The project and the program is a collaborative effort between Red Crescent- Selangor Branch, Asli Adventure Base Camp owner Tuan Haji Zakaria and the Orang Asli community settling in the area led by their Tok Batin.

RCâSelangor Branch treats this project at Sungai Lepoh as a pilot project of its nature and therefore welcomes proposals for similar projects as this pilot project to be implemented elsewhere in other parts of Selangor for the benefit and safety of the members of the public who indulge in jungle trekking, hill climbing and outdoor camping activities which are in remote locations.

BSM- Selangor dan seluruh ahli sukarelawan serta staff merakamkan setinggi takziah keatas pulangnya YBhg Dato Wan Mansor Bin Wan Abdullah kerahmatullah pada 10.10.11.

Sumbangan Allahyarham sebagai Pengerusi Cawangan Selangor dari tahun 1980- 1986 telah memberi penekanan kepada aktiviti-aktiviti khidmat masyarakat.
