The inaugural and unique Red Crescent Bazaar organized by the Malaysian Red Crescent was officially launched by the Minister of Health YB Datuk Liow Tiong Lai at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa on 8th May 08. The four-day fundraising bazaar which was started yesterday is to commemorate the Malaysian Red Crescent’s 60th anniversary and to celebrate the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

With the theme “Together for Humanity”, the bazaar was aimed at creating better awareness on the role of the society as an auxiliary to the government, in particularly humanitarian assistance locally and abroad.

The bazaar is open to public until this Sunday, 11 May 2008 from 10.00 am until 10.00 pm. The highlight for Saturday and Sunday morning programs are Poco-Poco, Treasure Hunt with the STAR and Children’s Competition.

The closing ceremony of the bazaar will be officially closed by the Deputy Minister of Federal Territory, YB Datuk M. Saravanan on 11 May 08 at 4.00 pm.
