In a conjunction with Worlds Aids Day 2011, Malaysian Red Crescent and supported by International Federation Red Cross and Red Crescent has organised a workshop participated by thirty three volunteers from Malacca, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The workshop started on 12 to 14 December 2011 in Permaisuri Hotel, Stadium Hang Jebat, Malacca. Datuk Wira Hj. Othman bin Muhammad, Speaker of Dewan Undangan Negeri Melaka was kind enough officiated the workshop. Through out the program participants were exposed into variety of information related to HIV/AIDS. MRC undertake the HIV/AIDS program is to help reducing and avoiding continuous spreading of HIV viruses by conducting relevant trainings to raise awareness, to educate and build upon capacity of MRC members and volunteers of HIV/AIDS. Datuk Wira Dr. Hj. Bahari bin Datuk Abu Mansor, Malaysian Red Crescent National Vice Chairman and also a Chairman for National Blood Program, HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse also present to support the event. In his speech to the audience, Datuk Wira Dr. Hj. Bahari urged MRC branches and chapters to take upon a challenge to plan more HIV/AIDS programmes in line with the MRC five years strategic plan to benefit the MRC local representatives and also the society.
