Red Crescent Mobile Kitchen, care for the needy was officially had its soft launched at the LRT Station Masjid Jamek recently.

About 20 of Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) staff and volunteers have disseminated 1000 packs of foods at the said location as part of the Red Crescent Social Service Program. Speaking to the press, MRC National Vice Chairman, Dato’ Dr. Hj Wan Azhar bin Hj. Wan Ali said that MRC has named the program as Red Crescent Mobile Kitchen and the program shall start at 5 O’Clock everyday during the fasting month. He also added that the objective of the program is to help those people who in need regardless of any races. He wishes that with this program it could help reducing an urban issue face by the country such as the homeless. He also thanked to the donor, Kampung Pandan Restaurant who has dedicated themselves to participate in this program. Dato’ Dr. Haji Wan Azhar added that he hopes there will be more donors who willing to participate in this program after the Ramadhan period. His vision is to educate the society to donate to MRC in ensuring that there will be more of Social Service Program can be implemented in the future.

Besides the location mentioned earlier, the MRC has identified the following areas to be included in the program. The areas are:

• Pertama Kompleks Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman
• Lorong Masjid India 4
• Jalan Bonus
