Training of Trainers (TOT) on Exploring Humanitarian Law Serial 2/09 was conducted successfully at Hotel Royale Bintang, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on 6-8 November 2009. This is the second course for this year, was jointly organized by Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional delegation Kuala Lumpur.
There were 28 participants attended the 3-day course comprising tutors, lecturers, teachers and MRC instructors from Universities, colleges and schools and MRC Branches from Peninsular Malaysia. Participants were tutored on the methods of disseminating International Humanitarian Law (IHL) to students, youth and junior members of MRC by way exploring which emphasized more on discussion, role-play analysis and presentation.
Few facilitators were involved in the course, headed by Dr. Toh Wah Seng, Senior Lecturer from Teachers Training Institute Kampus Batu Lintang , Kuching, Sarawak and Mr. N. Murugan, MRC Trainer and teacher from Kajang High School, Selangor. Also assisting the facilitators were Ms. Firoza Burhanudeen from ICRC Kuala Lumpur and Lt Kol Mohamad B. Hassan, Manager IHL from MRC National HQ.
At the end of the course, certificates were given to the participants and the closing ceremony and presenting certificates were officiated by En. Hisham Harun Hashim, MRC Deputy National Chairman. Also attending the closing ceremony were Maj Gen Dato Megat Mohd Yusof Bin Dato Megat Mahmud (Ret), MRC Secretary General and Pn. Ainin Abd Manan, Director of MRC Training Institut.
