NGOs Raise Over RM400,000 Via ‘Maybankheart’


KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 – Local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have raised over RM400,000 to-date for their projects listed on ‘MaybankHeart’, a first-of-its-kind digital social fund-raising platform by Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) since its launch this September.

Maybank Chairman, Tan Sri Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor, said the initiative was a milestone, as it enabled NGOs to not only reach out to the public at large, but also tap Maybank’s huge customer base.


“Maybank’s presence throughout ASEAN, supported by our 22 million customers worldwide, provides it a matchless advantage and opportunity to make a significant difference in the communities we serve, not only economically, but also socially and environmentally.

Maybank has launched it new wings of crowdfunding platform named #MaybankHeart. The platform supports social cause in education, community empowerment, healthy living, environmental diversity, disaster relief, safety and arts & culture.

MRC are proud to be part of the new Maybank Heart initiative that offers a 100% charity crowd funding platform. The platform enable the public to donate to a cause/project of their choice. MRC initiated the donation campaign on a ComBase Ambulance Services and has successfully completed the first stage of fundraising and reached the targeted amount.


Today, MRC has joined the official launched on the Maybank Heart Campaign together with all selected NGO’s located at Menara Maybank, Kuala Lumpur. MRC and Maybank Heart will continue the collaboration on crowd funding and develops the sustainability of Malaysia Red Crescent operation especially in ambulance services and disaster management.
